Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: June 23, 2026
This document is a good-faith draft for planning purposes and is not legal advice. Have it reviewed by qualified counsel before you rely on it.
The core rule
You may only use ReminderIt to call or message phone numbers that you own or are explicitly authorized to contact. ReminderIt is a personal reminder tool, not a bulk outreach or marketing platform.
Prohibited uses
- Contacting numbers you do not own without consent.
- Spam, marketing, promotional, political, or fundraising content.
- Harassment, threats, deception, or impersonation.
- Any illegal activity or content that violates the rights of others.
- Attempts to bypass usage limits, metering, or rate limits.
- Reverse engineering, scraping, or abusing the API or infrastructure.
Reminding other people (caregiver mode)
ReminderIt can place reminder calls to another person — for example an elderly parent — but only with their permission. When you add someone, you must confirm you have their consent, and we place a one-time verification call: they press 1 (or say yes) to agree before any reminders are sent. They can opt out at any time by replying STOP or pressing 9 during a call, and we honor it immediately. Adding numbers without permission, or to spam or harass, is strictly prohibited and may result in suspension.
Why this matters
Our voice and messaging capabilities depend on third-party networks (Twilio, Meta/WhatsApp) with strict policies. Misuse can harm our number reputation and other users. Protecting these accounts protects everyone's reminders.
Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this policy, with or without notice where necessary to protect the service. Report abuse to [email protected].
